Yes, this drive can be password protected. But then, just about any flash drive can be password protected. This device comes with security software loaded on it, but I haven't used it myself. Additionally, there are a variety of security programs available for portable devices, and some of them have free versions available that will provide basic security such as offering password protection. However, all the programs take up space on the drive, so take that into account when making your buying decision. The total pre-installed software that comes on this drive is just a tad less than 50MB with the Sandisk Secure Access program accounting for only 9MB of that total.
