Yes, you can format it to NTFS, and it is excellent as a system and image backup device (only it is slower than 3.0)...just open the Device Manager and look for your USB drive under the "Disk Drives" area. Right click on that flash drive and select properties, then choose the "Policies" tab and select "Optimize for performance" option. Then you should be good to go.

Please try again later.The drive can be formatted to NTFS and used for imaging, etc. Be sure to get a usb drive that is several GB's bigger than the source (original) drive. My 256GB usb drive had 231GB available, for example, and was not big enough to image a 250GB WD laptop drive (which had 232GB available).
