• yes, a CF card will fit any body that accepts CF cards, I have the original rebel 300d thru the newest 1Dx's and these cards fit all

• The cannon Rebel Xt was originally designed to take up to an 8GB Type I or Type II compact flash card. If you put a 16gb card in the camera and formatted the card using the camera, it would only use (format) the first 8gb on the card and that's all. If you formatted the 16gb card on your computer, you could use the entire 16gb. Also speed is a factor. If you use a card with a rated speed of over 80gb/s the camera would likely slow down in loading the images because the processor couldn't keep up with the speed of the card. In a nutshell, this card would likely not work on a Rebel Xt.
