“Will this device work with my MacBook Pro thunderbolt 2 port if I find a USB-C -to- thunderbolt cable? Is the transfer speed likely to be good?”

It works fine on my MacBook Pro with a USB - C to USB - A adapter. I use it for Time Machine backups but haven't clocked the speed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have the adapter it should work fairly well. I use it with T4, USB-C and USB-A and it transfers files quickly. I do not believe I have ever gotten the promised “max” speed on the box. But it’s durable, water-resistant and small so I’ve allowed it some leeway.
