“Considering this drive vs a thumb drive. I use a thumb drive to move a video file from my pc to my Samsung TV. Can you do the same with the ssd drive seeing the TV doesn’t have an OS to speak of? Will the TV see the ssd as it sees the file on thumb?”

Yes, this is what I do. My samsung 4k hdtv will read this as an ssd. I use it for several large video files, some in 4k.

You would just have to format the drive in the supported format and set it to the max supported size your TV allows. But your TV will not take advantage of the USB standard that this drive brings to the table. Your better off continuing to use your thumb drive or getting a cheaper drive.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I use mine in place of a slow thumb drive, I use it with my smart TV, Tablet, Galaxy S8 phone and Laptop with no ossues at all. It's much faster than a thimb drive as well and great for photographers.
