“Can this be plugged directly into an iPhone to store pictures? I need to store photos that are on my phone and I don't want to have to go through my work computer or iCloud. I understand that to see the photos I will have to plug it into a computer.”

• As long as you're running iOS 13 or later, you should be able to transfer photos directly to the SSD via the Files app. You'll need a cable that has a Lightning connector on the iPhone end and a USB Type C connector on the other.
