You can transfer the Word file to the Sandisk drive, but it's read-only. However, you can then easily transfer that file from the Sandisk to your computer's or iPad's software. I don't know about Powerpoint, but I assume it's the same. I much prefer this system over Microsoft's poorly indexed cloud system, which also requires a Wifi signal. Incidentally, the Sandisk software was much more versatile than other brands I tried.
