• Yes, you can use this on older USB ports. It can be used with USB 1.0, USB 2.0 & USB 3,.0. I do NOT recommend you using a USB hub, best to plug it directly into the computer's USB port.

• I believe this is backwards compatible with usb 2.0

• These drives are backwards compatible, so you should have no problem doing this. The only thing that you won't get is the speed of file transfer with the faster USB 3.0 protocol.

• Yes it’ll work with standard USB ports & 2.0 & 3.0. It’s a little bit faster than USB 2.0 with it’s standard USB 3.0.

• Yes. It will work whether or not your pc has usb 3. Transfer speed is up to the capability of the USB port in the pc.
