In regards to how many photos you can store on this flash drive the answer is it depends on how big each picture is in size(mega bites). If they are pictures from your phone you can store a lot of them. How many is unknown. If they are pictures in raw format from a canon, nikon, sony etc. camera it also depends, but it would be a lot less pictures than pictures from your phone. In regards if the flash drive can be use in another PC if the PC crashes the answer is yes. That's one of the purposes of having flash drives, portability and be able to use in multiple devices. Usually the flash drives are also pretty reliable you wont loose data with time and last longer than a hard drives. But that doesn't mean that they never fail. If the pictures are really important to you I'll keep 2 back ups of them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. How large are the pictures? Assuming you are using Windows Explorer, right click on the folder that contains all the photos; ie. My Pictures. Click on "properties". the window that opens will show you the size of the folder contents. The flash drive will not have the full capacity that the descriptions suggests, but it will be close to it. That should give you an idea if your flash drive is even close enough to hold the pictures.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not only will you be able to store hundreds of photos on this drive you would be able to store thousands. I stuck this drive in a computer that was built in 2005 and it recognized it perfectly. So long as the next computer you buy has a USB 2.0 port or USB 3.0 port you will be able to stick it in the computer and it will recognize the drive.
