This totally depends on your camera, and the settings you use to record your images. If you are like most people, you create photos in 8 bit, JPG format. Those can run about 1-5 MB in size. Of course you can save your photos in a much higher resolution and an uncompressed format like PSD, TIFF, or RAW. This are almost always much larger files, and can exceed 20-30MB. If you normally don't create images larger than 8x10 inches, 1-2MB should be fine, and you'll have a hard time filling on of these cards.
