- Answer Yes! I use this drive to store client data when I do recovery services. I do securely delete or shred files between uses, but for my personal use you can erase and reuse many times.

- Answer I'm pretty certain it's backward compatible with USB 1 and USB 2 ports and I don't blame you for sticking with Mac OS 9. Mac OS upgrades are app killer$ - I've been burned a few times myself..
