• It depends. That was why I bought a couple of these. It works great for that in my commuter car (with an after market Kenwood deck); however, it does not work in the stock deck of my 2011 Silverado. I learned that each device has a threshold for the size of USB it can read from, whether it’s full or not. I also use it in a rental car that was a 2019 Nissan Altima. Seems like newer cars would be okay
