If the drive is formatted as an NTFS file type, then the Mac will not recognize it. As it is formatted from the factory, it can be swapped between both PC, and Mac with no formatting issues. However certain file types are not recognized by Mac, and in turn, some Mac files types are not recognized my Windows.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My desktop is Mac OSX El Capitan. My laptop is Windows 10. Since my laptop doesn't have a CD drive, I import all of my CDs onto my Mac using iTunes. I then load them onto this exact USB drive so I can listen to the songs on my laptop when I travel. As long as you don't format the drive for one operating system or the other, it'll work on both. If you don't know what I mean when I say that, don't worry... it's hard to do it accidentally. By the way, this answer also applies to every USB drive I've ever bought. Just plug it in and do your thing. It'll work great for you.
