Yes but the burst speed won't be fast.

With your phone,Dos your camera work before you tried the new upgrade adapter? If so , with your last memory card in....(.your old card).. try to find, what should pop up.. It should give you the option to Restore and Backup your info so you will not loose anything. After your decision either way, to add the memory card that came with this adapter...... Turn off your phone, take the back off, take out your battery . memory only your memory card, insert your new one.. now place your new memory card in, replace battery and back of the phone. it should now give you 'step by' instructions. to the steps, such as 'where do you want your dl folder'. after your back up is installed, use your explorer to find your 'dcim' folder, thats where your pictures go by default. I then had my photos back. It will ask where you want to dl, if you choose Memory Card..or SD card ...in my case, I still had room on mmy Internal memory so it was still dling to to the to my phone. When your Internal memory gets full, it will begin to save to SD card. Your Photos Should ALWAYS be found under "DMIC". Hope this helps. This is from an Android 6.1 . Good Luck. Look for this folder BEFORE you ADD the upgrade,.. If you caan;t do this manually, you Can dl an APP that ill help you move the files.
