If your camera is setup for micro sd card then no. The adapter is used to upload to a computer which usually is only compatible with standard size sd card.

This is a micro SD card. If you want to put the card into a slot in your PC or use it with something that only accommodates a full size SD card, you will need the adapter.

Adapter is just like a case that you put your microSD card in to make it look like SD card, so that you can use it in devices that only has SD card slot. If your canon has only slot for SD card, then you will need it. But if it has a slot for microSD card, then you wont need. But having the adapter is very handy. Lot of the laptops has the slot for SD, but not mircoSD.

Your camera probably uses a SD card.The adapter is for the micro SD card to fit into a SD card slot.

This is a MicroSD card. The adapter makes it the size of a standard SD card. Most Canon cameras require a standard SD card, so yes you would need this adapter.
