“My 2016 Nissan Xterra has a built in Garmin GPS which is too small for current maps so i inserted a 32 GB SDHC card but it wont load onto it. Under Tools, it shows that I have an SD card installed and it is empty but wont install new maps on it”

The card may be too large for the drive in the car. That’s what I run into with older cameras, computer ports, and, card readers. The older drives can’t handle some of the newer high capacity SDHC cards.
