I researched the Coolpix manual a little more and found something more definitive. You will need a smaller capacity memory card...256 MB or less. Originally, I wanted a larger card (memory) but it would not format in the recorder. I learned from my Best Buy associates that Zoom would only accept (format) a smaller size. I did not find that information in the operator's manual. It was a production alert that was provided to Best Buy and I was fortunate their was an associate who knew this and could advise me. When you look at the Nikon COOLPIX instruction manual, there is this one citations that makes me think you have the same issue..."The following table lists the number of pictures, maximum length per movie, or maximum to-tal voice recording length that can be recorded to internal memory or a 256 MB memory card." You may wish to ask the same general question and/or try a smaller memory card.
