You can tilt it to see the tv but you can’t lower where it’s mounted at. It extends, tilts, and swivels but doesn’t move up and down. The tilt on it is pretty good and it extends from the wall a pretty good ways so I think you’ll be fine by just tilting it and extending it if you need to. I’ve got mine above my fire place and the tilt on it is perfect for viewing .
