“We have a power supply and the direct tv hook up right in the middle of the wall where this mount would be. How much uncovered space is there at the center? Does the plate leave about 3 1/2 inches space for the power supply plate? Will it clear it?”

You have a little over 11 1/2 high and 9 1/2 wide on each side from middle of mount. There is a pocket on each side. Middle where mount is has 8' high and 5' wide hope that helps
