“The release cords are hanging down below the bottom of our TV which defeats the clean, cord-free look we want. Obviously, I can’t cut them off since we need them to operate the release, so I’m hoping someone can suggest a way to hide them instead.”

Hi. Yes that is how they hang which is odd. I just used some packing tape to tuck them under. Just be sure they don’t get pinched in the releases. It is no fun trying to get the TV lifted while one or more releases is locked.
