Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the mount will not work with a 40" TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends. If you always follow dirrections and have never walked on the wrong side of the street then don't buy this for the UN40J5200AFXZA, since the TV is for a 40" (39.5) and the MF215 only goes up to a 39 inches. Otherwise,YES, it defintely will fit. 1. The MF215 will mount to a VESA 200mm x 200mm bolt pattern. this is what the Samsung UN40J5200AFXZA has. 2. The samsung weights 14.1 lbs. and the MF215 can handle up to 60 lbs. This is 1/4 the rated load. Some of the 39" models weight over 20 lbs. 3. The height of the Samsung is 20.9 inches, this is the same or smaller then some of the 39" models. 4. The width of the Samsung UN40J5200AFXZA is 36.3in., other 39" TVs that this mount will work with measure from 34.7 to 35.3 That means that the samsung UN40J5200AFXZA will be 1/2" bigger off Center line where it is mounted. So IF you are mounting unit to its extreme angle in a corner it may be a 1/2" off, Sorry....but you will never be able to form an isosceles right triangle between the corner and the TV. (OK, now I am being the Geek ) 5. Warranty: Sanus Limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for replacement of the mounting bracket, nothing else, NO DAMAGES. The Limited Warranty is automatically void if your SANUS Premium product is modified in any way, improperly installed, taxed beyond its stated weight capacity or otherwise misused or abused. So the worst you can you can be out is $79-$99 depending on what you paid. As stated above, this Unit can handle the weight of the TV and an extra total inch in width in space is not going to upset the TV mounting universe. I just mounted my TV (Samsung UN40J5200AFXZA), I love the bracket, nice adjustments. You can tighten the joints to get the friction movement feel you want, or if you need to get the TV move to a strange angle away from 2 walls and then lock everything up you can do that to so is does not move. The mounting plate is different than what is shown in the adds. attached is a picture. they use. 2 metal straps attached to the main plate for the 200mm x 200mm VESA hole pattern. The Samsung is a flat back and mounts nicely. Specifics for the Samsung. The mounting unit came with 20mm and 40mm length M8 x 1.25 screws (bolts) to mount the plate to the TV. The 20mm were too short and the 40mm were way too long. The only thing I did have to buy was Qty 4 - M8 x 25mm Bolts and Qty 4 - M8 fender washers .090" thick so I could get max holding in the threads in the TV. I was able to find the exact same type of screw/bolt only in 25mm length and washers at ACE hardware. The enclosed washers with the mounting unit were .040" thick. Just make sure you DO NOT bottom out the threads. I did a test run on each hole and each bolt. With the TV turn upside-down. I snugged (NOT TIGHT) the 25mm length bolts in and then slid up the bracket and thick washer next to the bolt. They should be at least about the thickness of the thin washer above the bottom of the head of the bolt. This should be enough clearance (at least .040 inch) that when the assemble and tighten everything that you should not bottom out the bolt (screw). (Note I did not use the .040 washers) Good luck and happy watching
