“Does the cover slide off on this white model? I got the black one & I was able to coil the cable up neatly in that space. I bought the white one a day later & I can't get the cover to slide. Did product change or is it a color difference? I'm disappointed”

Not easy. I had to pry the cover open, cut out some plastic ribs in order to have the clearance to wind the cable under the cover. In my case you can not tell the cover was modified.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never noticed that the lid was removable. I have the cord tie up and hanging on its side. I also bought the white one so unaware of the black option. My only disappointment with this product is that the shelf is too short to lay the speaker on its side. Most electrical outlet are located near the floor so it's odd to have the speaker near the floor.
