Hi Shirley, Actually, both of these mounts will work with your 78" Samsung TV. The VLC1 is made specifically for curved TVs, so you will be able to assemble it much faster. All you need for the normal full-motion mount is the spacers we provide to space the brackets off the back of the TV. Let us know if you need anything else! Thanks, Jake @ SANUS
