“How wide is the mounting plate that bolts to the wall. My wall has 16 inch on center studs and there is one dead center of the wall. Which means I need the mounting plate to be at least 34 inches wide.”

It is 30” wide. I see what you mean...may not be able to center it on your wall. The only thing I can add is that the TV can slide down the plate so you might be able to make an adjustment that way. It will depend on how far apart the screw holes are for your TV. Mine were something like 26-28’ so I’didn’t have much room to slide for adjustment. This was an old plasma TV. You might have closer holes if newer TV. Good luck!
