There are release straps that hand down that are used to release the bottom of the mount when you are going to take the TV off the mount. Since this is a flat mount, it does not tilt when locked in place. But to access the connection ports as you asked about , you need to release the bottom of the mount; leaving the top still resting / engaged. Then you are able to “tilt” the TV for access. Depending on the size of your TV, this might be a two person job. One to hold the TV tilted while the other plugs / unplugs the cables.

On our Sanus website for this product (BXL1) it has an instruction manual on the middle righthand side of the page available for pdf download. You may have to take off the TV to get to your HDMI. If you have any additional questions give our customer support team a shout at [email protected] or at 1-800-359-5520. Thanks, - Haydn @ SANUS
