Jason, first you remove your existing TV and you attach the Sonos Beam mount directly to the TV. Then you reattach your TV mount on top of the Sonos Beam mount. Spacers are provided to make this work. For me though, this mount wasn't compatible with my 65" Philips TV because the Sonos Beam mount arm didn't extend down far enough to clear the bottom of the TV so I was unable to even attach the Sonos Beam to the mount.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both. If you have an existing mount, you'll have to remove it off the wall and remove the existing mechanisms that are mounted to the TV which are used to hang on the wall portion of your existing mount. The Sonos mount is more or less sandwiched between the TV and the mount mechanisms used to hang your TV on the wall portion of your mount. I paired it w another Sanus mount where the main issue came w the available hardware. Neither Sanus mounts had long enough bolts, for the requisite diameters and thread widths, for my Samsung TV once you include various washers as you most certainly need too. After you get over these hurdles, hopefully you'll love it as I do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It attaches to the tv itself, your existing mount is pushed out and you bolt it on flat using spacers. Two of the holes in the mount will share bolts with the beam mount.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for the question. This the soundbar mount is secured to your TV mount. Katie @ SANUS
