• Yes, you can use any standard length 1.5" NPT pipe.

• Yes u can use your own pipe I did and pipe that just screws in mounting bracket and base of this. I think pipe is either 1/2 or 3/4 in pipe. Iam at work and trying to remember for sure. Hope that helps
