It will definitely work with a Samsung Galaxy S9. You should be able to use the video app that is included with the phone, but I know in the past that Samsung's video apps have been a little limited on the audio features and some have even had not had the functionality to allow the use of external mics. But this is not a problem, you can download free apps like Camera MX, or Saramonic SmartRecorder for a free full-featured video app, or a paid app like Filmic Pro if you want the best video app out there.
