“How high does this unfold to? What type of grips does it have on bottom of stand? I need non slip bottom that won't scratch glass. How wide is space between two rounded holders. Will it accommodate USB-C charging cable?”

I keep my R1 about 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of plate. Bottom of stand has a smooth black , I think it might be a plastic of some sort. It does not scratch any of my surfaces. The space between the two holders is 1 3/8 inch. I don't have a USB-C charging cable so can't help you on that one. Kay
