Short answer, no. Longer answer, if you have ethernet already then you don't need a modem you just need a router. If you have fiber, which it sounds like you do, you should be able to replace the router and Wi-Fi access point with your own. I had to do something similar just recently and all it required was setting up the correct PPPoE credentials, which you should be able to find in the original router, or frontier should be able to tell you. Other providers don't even require that much. Some don't require anything, and some just require a MAC address to be registered with them( easiest thing to do here is to just set the MAC address of your new router to be the same as the MAC address of the old router). If you look online someone has surely done the hard work to figure out the steps required for Frontier. Good luck!

If your ISP is handing off your Internet via ethernet cable, chances are your "modem" isn't actually a modem, it's a router doing authentication and other stuff. True cable modems talk a completely different language.

If the modem you are renting from frontier is actually a router, you do not want to put in a modem in its stead. Are you splitting the internet with someone? The point where the coax comes into the house and goes into the first device, that is the modem. Anything attached after that is a router. If you are just trying to switch from frontier's unit to one of yours, I would spend the money buying a replacement unit instead of getting this adapter. Moca is fast, but not as fast as ethernet. Moca is more useful if you cannot get ethernet where you need it, and want speeds/reliability higher than wireless. Just my 2 cents based on little research I did prior to purchasing there units.
