For the Xbox series x or s it doesn’t matter. Either on ssd or console directly the speeds are still blazing fast

So in theory if everything is working as it should it shouldn’t make a difference which drive you add your games to. I just always put the games I play a lot on the internal SSD even though it shouldn’t matter anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used up my internal SSD storage first (well, up to about 90%) then started downloading to the Seagate, there's no difference whatsoever on how games play, which is nice. It's literally just an extra TB of storage for your Series X/S

If you plan on having more than one series x console in your home, throw the games you really enjoy onto the Expandable drive (Seagate SSD) and bring that from console to console. If not, just install games onto the ssd thats built into the console and expand when you need the space!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The internal SSD and Seagate Expansion Drive have the exact same specs. It wouldn't make any difference except for one caveat. SSDs can get really warm, if not downright hot. I'd rather the Expansion Drive have issues than the internal SSD. At this point that's a purely hypothetical concern since there is nothing to indicate either the internal SSD or the Seagate Expansion Drive are prone to any problems. With a 3-year-warranty on the Expansion Drive, Seagate seems confident on their reliability.
