“Will this work as a permanent drive that i will always be using kinda like a sata sold state drive that in your pc or would i have to get another solid state drive and install it instead of using this ?”

Yes it will work fine for that purpose. I use a Seagate 1 Terabyte external hard drive exactly like that. But I could also use my 4 Terabyte Seagate external hard drive the same way.

If I play a game that’s stored on the sea gate it acts it is part of my PS4 machines memory. It pulls the stored data and it is like it is part of the Sony Ps4 memory. It works great
