• A:Answer I wouldn't recommend it. It is possible to be used as external storage but there are much better options out there. Also, it will not fit inside a Macbook Air if that is what you are asking. This type of hard drive is meant to be put inside desktop computers but it can be put into a HDD dock to then be plugged into a MacBook Air. However, most of the HDD docks use USB 3.0 to plug into a computer which most MacBook Airs do not have.

• A:Answer I have several HP Desktops. They take different screws. Some HP use special blue plastic shouldered screws. If need be they are available cheaply on ebay. You could try a local computer repair shop if you have one.

If system is older than say 4 years old, or purchased used, check that you have a free socket on the motherboard. Check your system Bios and operating system for any disk size limitations. You can easily check online using your full desktop PC model type specifications for any hard drive size limitations before you buy.
