The 2 TB Central comes with all cables you'll need to hook it to your network; specifically a 3 foot Cat 5 network cable and the power cord. If you have an open port on your main router, just plug it in and you'll be in good shape. In the box was: the drive, power supply, Cat 5 Network cable, quick start guide and Seagate back up software. Everything you need; assuming the software recognizes the drive on your network. (see my review). I think the product description was trying to tell you the wi-fi router was not include; that you need to have. This drive hooks to an existing home network via the supplied cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the router is not included, if you have a switch or open ethernet port on the router it connects fine. you can also wire it to an Access Point(we did) and connect AP to wireless router. Speed is slower but works just as well.
