• If you have a personal account with Xbox (Windows) then those game are yours forever. It will be a pain, but you can always just download the games for free, again, especially if you still have a hard copy of the game, or did a digital download. You can also backup the drive itself to a Windows PC attached to the Xbox itself..

• yes you can just hook up another drive and "copy" your games to it

• You back it up the way you would any other drive. You copy stuff to a second drive.

• If it were to become corrupted, you would just redownload/reinstall the games. Your save data is cloud saved if you have Xbox live gold.

• My best guess would be you would just need another hard drive. This hard drive is a “backup” or extra storage, but if it fails, the data would be lost.
