I'm looking for headphones just for listening to music. I plug straight into my sony cd/md player and bypass the receiver. the cd/md player has volume control. will these work without added amp or going through receiver? null

I don't have an amp and use them with my phone(iPhone), work laptop and PC Desktop motherboard integrated sound card, and I get enough sound out of those.

You don’t need an Amp for it because it runs well by its own, and as long as your CD player has a 3.5mm headphone jack you’re good to go.

Yes, they will work just fine and be loud enough. I use them with my Galaxy S10 sometimes. An amp isn't necessary, but I would recommend it if you *really* like music.

They sound underwhelming going through the iPhone dongle to my iPhone. I would assume it would be worse straight to a CD player. These just need a little power.

They are quite low impedance headphones and most devices can comfortably drive them to a desired volume
