Yes, it can be used with or without the wire. This is my first wireless headphones and I was concerned about the sound quality via wireless. I can notice no discernible difference using them wireless. Besides, it is far more convenient and less trouble.

You can use them seamlessly with multiple devices! If you take them off or lift off of one ear they auto pause which comes in handy as a busy parent. The voice calls are clear and crisp. And the noise canceling works well enough for a bit of peace in a hectic day. I do recommend these headphones.
