Batteries are recyko rechargeable NiMH AAA. Yes when you place the headphones on the stand they charge. They are perfect for listening to the tv not disturbing wife with the sound. Enjoy
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Batteries are 2 AAA LSD NiMH rechargeable in the headset charged while on the top of the TR 175 Transmitter stand that is AC wall outlet connected. First charge is 16 hours. After that it is much quicker to recharge the headset on the stand. You can leave the headset on the stand when not in use.

As for changing the batteries, each ear cup twists to open and the pad comes off to access the battery compartment. You can also use regular AA non rechargeable batteries if you want to. I wanted to use mine right away and didn't want to wait to charge the lithium batteries. Been using Duracell AA batteries for about a month now. Not a lot, but watched a few movies and they're still going strong. Have yet to unwrap the lithium rechargeable batteries.
