Unfortunately, the only wireless part of this headset is from the charging dock to the headset itself. You will need a wire from your TV to the charging dock for them to work properly. If you have a soundbar it might have a sound out port and hide the wire behind your cabinet. As I am hearing impaired I had to purchase a soundbar with this option. However this headset is absolutely the best I've owned so far.

I considered mounting a shelf next to my mounted tv to minimize the viewable cable and also ensure the headphone base and cabling are nowhere near my modem, cordless phone base, etc., to avoid interference that can cause clicking or seconds of silence in the audio. BTW, I upgraded to a inexpensive, longer, amazon brand optical cable that helped with this as well. I ended up not mounting a shelf. I had to secure my charging base in a glass box to isolate/protect it from my cat. The optical cable comes out of the top of the box and to keep it away from the other components, I will be putting it behind a cable strip that I will paint the color of my wall.
