• I have headphone tower connected to TV optical audio out and stereo is connected to the normal audio out. TV is set on external speakers. We get sound from both at the same time. For some reason if on Netflicks there is no sound to headphones. Have not figured that out yet.

• If you connect that to your amplifier yes you can control TV volume without interrupt your husband headphone
