There is an application you can use. It is available on Amazon.com. It is called Disk Wiper Hard Drive Eraser CD DVD with DBan Nuke Hard Drive Data Wiping Software. It cost $15.95 before tax and shipping. I have used it to wipe the hard drive on various laptops and computers before I donated them to Goodwill. You boot from the CRROM and follow the instructions. It takes about 45 minutes to completely wipe the contents of your hard drive. It is worth the price.
