I perused the questions to seek out this same thing. There are two questions on this subject and Shark hasn't responded to either, although they have responded to other questions within the same time frame. I was very interested in this unit, but this leads me to believe I can't depend on it for helping with the mold issue in my place, which is imperative. For that reason I will need to choose something else as a non answer has to be taken as a negative answer.

Make sure you follow the manual on proper cleaning and recommended filter changes in order for mold and other bacteria to be removed. Bring up the manual on the shark website and read the manual to ensure this unit meets your needs..
