The Shark Anti-Allergen True HEPA Filter does not contain fiberglass. Its pleated filtering media is a tightly bonded, non-woven synthetic fiber (polymer-based) rather than loose fiberglass strands. By contrast, traditional “fiberglass” HEPA filters use glass micro-fibers, but Shark’s NANOSEAL filters rely on engineered polymer fibers to trap 99.98% of particles down to 0.1–0.2 μm while avoiding any risk of glass fiber shedding.
