• We have had no issues with running on carpets.

• We would like to let you know that the Shark ION Robot has cliff sensors that prevent it from going over stairs or somewhere it shouldn't. Sometimes, they are triggered by especially dark floor or dark and thick carpets. You can try cleaning off the four cliff sensors with a dry cloth, but it is possible your robot will not clean this area of your house.
