Hello workingmom, We are happy to confirm that the Shark Navigator® Lift-Away® Bagless Upright Vacuum is great for high pile carpet and shag area rugs. (I have high and low) I thought I did a decent job cleaning, but every time I run this sweeper thru the house I am amazed (and appalled!) at all that it picks up! Maybe it’s just that I can see it working - but I feel better about my surfaces!! The adjustable suction means I can vacuum all but the very light throw rugs. (Still shake those out). Works great on everything else!
