The Shark Navigator can be used on shag carpet, but it’s best described as acceptable rather than ideal for that type of flooring. While the vacuum has strong suction, shag and very high‑pile carpets can sometimes be too thick for the rotating brush roll, which may cause resistance or make the vacuum harder to push. If your shag carpet is medium to moderately plush, the NV360 can work, especially if you turn the brush roll off or use gentle passes. However, for very deep or fluffy shag, it may struggle and could tug at the fibers over time. In such cases, a vacuum designed specifically for high-pile or plush carpet would be a better long-term option.
