The manual you can take apart the top areas for the fllters, cleaning however, no where do I see Shark showing disassy of the floor rotating brush housing. After looking at the unit, there are 4 screws on the bottom of the housing. This is plenty of room to cut grab and remove the stringy stuff that the brush collects over time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The canister itself disassembles for thorough cleaning, but the main motorized brush bar in the base of the unit does not come out easily for cleaning. in this respect the Shark is not as user friendly as a Dyson, which disassembles almost down to the motor for cleaning. The way exhaust air is managed does not make the Shark quite so easy to clean. You have a very delicate (I accidentally punctured it with a fingernail, not in the main air stream than goodness) foam filter right under the dust canister, then the passages to the other filters are all but impossible to clean thoroughly.
