“When you use the Odor-Neutralizer pods wouldn't the shark just remove it from the air. I mean that's what it suppose to do remove particles from the air?”

I don’t see the filter lasting 5 years. The side filters are not designed very well. The cat hair and dust falls back into the machine when you pull them out to clean them.
