No, they are soft. The front roller is covered in a soft material kind of like a microfiber towel. The second roller has blades that are soft and prevent long fibers from getting caught up around it like human hair. They do not scratch goes themselves. But the front one clogs quickly during use and something trapped could possibly scratch the floor.
