• I never had the dyson cordless. But this shark does not need to be charged as it plugs into an outlet.

• similar to Dyson but corded...I do like the light and the additional attachments. it has a lot of power too

• This isn't a cordless vacuum, so no charge time. I will say it works really great compared to our previous full-size Bissell and we're very happy with it.
